What to expect from my first hypnosis session?

I love when a new client asks these types of questions (it shows they have an invested interest in their therapy plan).

The client and I will have a simple discussion, mainly on setting goals and realistic expectations. Once goals are established, we discuss their complete treatment plan (a session-by-session breakdown).

At that time we dive right into a hypnotic state. I use several different methods of attaching hypnosis to REM (this depends on the client (past hypnosis experience, nervousness etc.).

The induction phase is completed by using powerful metaphors, stories, and hypnotic deepeners! I love storytelling and using metaphors and using embedded suggestions.

These effects are all very powerful, I love when my client focuses so deeply on every part of the story that they become lost within my words.

I always combine hypnosis with NLP simply because the two modalities are synergetic!

Time to manifest:

Creating a tv screen in your mind’s eye, and seeing yourself as you want to be seen is a powerful way to create change, your subconscious love using images, metaphors, stories, and symbols!

Seeing yourself as a “non-smoker,” or “free of addictions” is a great way to begin your transformation towards becoming the very best version of yourself. Your mind will begin to accept these visual cues as the truth, thus your new reality.

Wrapping up the first session:

Now it’s time for the client to resurface, this is a crucial part of the session. Using the correct language is beneficial in order not to undo all the amazing work completed throughout the session. This is why I bring the client back to full awareness as fast as possible (end of my hypnotic voice and altered pacing).

Using distraction at the very end helps greatly, to simply allow the client to focus elsewhere.

Does time distortion exist?

Yes, absolutely!

The subconscious simply cannot tell time, I always ask the client how long they believe the trance state lasted. Their responses are usually “it felt like 5 min!” when in actuality it would be closer to 35 min.

How many sessions of hypnotherapy will you need?

At the end:

Most will feel extremely relaxed, comfortable, and energized!
