Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that some people develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event.

The U.S Department of Veterans Affairs defines PTSD as:

“PTSD is a mental health problem that some people develop after experiencing or witnessing a life-threatening event, like combat, a natural disaster, a car accident, or sexual assault. It’s normal to have upsetting memories, feel on edge, or have trouble sleeping after this type of event. If symptoms last more than a few months, it may be PTSD. The good news is that there are effective treatments.”

Symptoms of PTSD may include:

– Re-experiencing the traumatic event in the form of flashbacks, nightmares, and persistent thoughts about the event

– Avoiding any reminders of the trauma, including people, places, activities and conversations

– Increased feelings of guilt or blame

– Difficulty concentrating

– Outbursts of anger or irritability

– Self-destructive behaviour like drinking too much alcohol or using drugs to relieve emotional pain

It’s important to seek help from a mental health professional if you think you might have PTSD. Treatment can include therapy and medications.

The effects of PTSD can be devastating and long-lasting. The person may have trouble sleeping, concentrating, or even maintaining relationships.

PTSD is an anxiety disorder that occurs in a person who has experienced a traumatic event. A traumatic event is a life-threatening, terrifying experience that usually causes feelings of intense fear, helplessness or horror.

It’s normal to have some symptoms after an event like this. But if they don’t go away after 3 months or more, you may have PTSD.

It is characterized by three clusters of symptoms:

-Intrusive memories, such as flashbacks, nightmares, and distressing thoughts about the event.

-Avoidance of people or places that are reminders of the traumatic event.

-Hyperarousal, such as difficulty sleeping or concentrating, irritability or outbursts of anger, and being easily startled.

These symptoms can be severe enough to disrupt daily life and make it difficult to carry on with normal activities.

Hypnotherapy is a type of psychotherapy that uses hypnosis to help people relax and focus their attention. Hypnotherapy is effective in treating post-traumatic stress disorder.

The process of hypnotherapy starts with an intake session where the therapist will collect information about the patient’s history, symptoms and current issues. The therapist will then create a plan for treatment and set goals for the patient. These sessions typically last an hour or more, with patients returning once or twice each week until they are symptom-free.

Hypnotherapy is a process that helps to heal the mind and body. It can help with PTSD as it allows you to go deep into your subconscious and find the root of your problem.

The process of hypnotherapy is that you let go of all of your thoughts and feelings, relax, and focus on the therapist’s voice. The therapist will say things like “you are safe here” or “you can feel calm now” to help you get in the right state of mind.

Ensure the therapist is fully accredited as a “Certified Hypnotherapist” before becoming their client.
